Health Walks are a supportive and welcoming way for you to enjoy the many benefits of being physically active.
A Health Walk:
- is a friendly group walk
- takes place regualry
- are led by a trained Walk Leader along a risk assessed route
- is around one hour long
- welcomes new participants who would benefit from being more active
- is a great opportunity to meet new people in your area and explore places you might not have been before
- great for getting fitter
- good for our mental health
- free to attend
This year (1st April 2024 – 31st March 2025) Eco Savvy are pushing forward with delivering more in-house health walks to dovetail in with existing island walking programmes such as StrollWithIt and Nordic Walking.
We now have regular nature walks exploring Arran’s flora and fauna, buggy walks and after-work walks with more to follow!

Health Walk Leader Training
On Tuesday 14th May, Eco Savvy hosted Health Walk Leader trainer Kate Cuthbert, Active Travel Hub Officer from The Trinity Hub in Irvine. We trained up 6 more Walk Leaders. You can read more about their day training on our blog post.
Health Walk Leader, Linda explains what she gets out of it:
“It’s one of the best things I’ve ever been involved in. I’m so glad Diana asked me to join her on this project”
Health Walk Leader, David added:
“It’s great to see the social interaction and how much the walkers all enjoy being together and having a good time”
In June they took their First Aid Training and are getting to co-lead and lead on some of our up-and-coming walks!
We are really excited to be evolving the range of walks on Arran! If you would like any more information please email – juliette@arranecosavvy.org.uk
