This August we are working in partnership with the Arran International Festival of Chamber Music and Song.

The Festival runs from the 19th to 25th of August. Festival Director Richard Morrison said “I’m thrilled with the concerts and events we have on offer in our inaugural year. We have outstanding local talent, world class artists, a UK premiere, a world premiere, beautiful music, art workshops, a guest lecture and the best of Scottish traditional music”.

In the run up to the festival the Arran International Festival of Chamber Music and Song (AIF) have formed an environmental partnership with Eco Savvy. During the festival we want to work with our partners, performers and audience to make a positive contribution towards the island’s thriving community. By participating sustainably, to ensure we maintain clean air, zero waste and an un-spoilt, unpolluted beautiful environment. The Isle of Arran is enriched with a healthy population of wild life, flora & fauna on the Isle of Arran.  This means for example using public transport, the Arran Lift Share Club, cycling or walking to venues where possible and you could bring your own cup if you would like a drink to reduce waste.

This August we want to know how you are choosing to travel to AIF events! We have created a fun competition where you can earn points for each method of travel. Plus extra points if you’ve visited one of our hubs, cafes, or community shop.

This August when visiting AIF events, calculate your points and by 6pm on the 25th August email them to hello@arranecosavvy.org.uk, to be in with a chance of winning one of three prizes.

Winners will be contacted via email and prizes handed out on the 26/08/24. This initiative is a brilliant way to enjoy the festival while minimising your carbon footprint and making a positive impact on Arran’s environment. Best of luck to everyone taking part!

Don’t forget to tag us and AIF in any photos you take during the events using #AIFxAES
