This project aims to provide practical help and information to the Arran community to improve energy efficiency and insulation in our buildings. As well as inform on generating energy from natural sources such as solar, heat pumps and hydro (moving water). It will enable more Arran householders and businesses to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, and, over time, reduce energy bills and keep more people warmer for less.
Tackling Climate Change by Living Well for Less builds on the Green Islands project. It will help Arran community members and organisations to implement recommendations from their energy performance assessments, audits and /or net zero action plans through:
Our workshops enable direct communication between householders and organisations with accredited providers and help householders and businesses take the next cost and planet saving steps towards renewable energy.
The workshops target specific areas identified through the Green Islands Project and are great places to swap knowledge, learn and hear about others experiences.
Thanks to the Scottish Government for funding this project through the Ayrshire Hub .
