The shop opened on 18th April 2014 run entirely by volunteers and located in Whiting Bay village on the Isle of Arran
The purpose is to save unwanted items from being sent to landfill by finding another use and helping us all to reduce the plastics we use.
What can I bring to the hub ?
As a guideline we say anything small clean and domestic which fits on a shelf can be taken at all times. If you are unsure please call us on 01770 700417 before you set out.
We have not received any funding for our hub, everything had been accomplished through the hard work and dedication of Arran residents and our visitors.
Where your item is FREE to good home or too big for the shop…
- Take a digital photograph of the item and use our free on arran facebook page
- Ask in the shop if you are unsure or telephone 01770 700417
What about golf clubs & bicycles?
We can sometimes sell these items. The criteria is space which is very limited, weight, safety and security , a valuable bicycle which does not sell would have to be brought in the shop overnight, as would golf clubs, it would be unacceptable to expect our volunteers to physically do that. So please check at the shop on 01770 700 417 before you bring them or you can email us at arran.ecosavvy @gmail.com
What can’t we take?
No items of safety thank you;
Crash helmets, Cycle helmets, Riding hats, Car Seats, Children’s car seats, Booster Seats, Safety harnesses of any type, Electric blankets, Electric heaters and any Gas appliances.
